In the first matchup of their 2023 four-game season series, the New York Liberty (10-4) fell to the Las Vegas Aces (14-1), 98-81.

Jonquel Jones totaled 13 points on 75% (6-8) shooting from the floor and six rebounds.
Courtney Vandersloot finished with 10 points, five assists, and two rebounds. At the 7:55 mark of the first, she recorded her 2,500th assist. At 372 games, she is the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 2,500 assists by 52 games.
At the 3:29 mark of the fourth quarter, Marine Johannès knocked down her 100th career three-pointer, ultimately finishing with 10 points on 57.1% (4-7) shooting from the field, including 50% (2-4) from three, two assists, and two rebounds. At 53 games, she is the 10th fastest player in WNBA history to 100 threes and, of the top-10 fastest players, just the third to do so while shooting over 40% from deep-joining Cynthia Cooper and Crystal Robinson.
For Las Vegas, Kelsey Plum finished with 18 points, eight assists, and three rebounds, while Jackie Young added 15 points, six assists, and five rebounds.
