The New York Red Bulls (5-2-5, 20 pts.) earned a 3-3 draw against Chicago Fire FC (2-5-5, 11 pts.) on Wednesday night at Red Bull Arena.

New York opened the scoring in the 20th minute, when midfielder Omir Fernandez was taken down in the box and awarded a penalty kick. Midfielder Lewis Morgan stepped up and converted the penalty to give the Red Bulls the lead.

Chicago leveled the match in the 38th minute, when midfielder Chris Mueller gathered a long ball and played a short pass to Brian Gutierrez, who laid the ball back off for Mueller and his shot attempt found the back of the net.

The Fire grabbed the lead in the 49th minute after Xherdan Shaqiri whipped in a corner and found the head of Jhoran Duran. He flicked a ball to the far post and defender Wyatt Omsberg headed the ball in the back of the net.

The Red Bulls equalized the match in the 58th minute, when midfielder Frankie Amaya played a long ball in the path of Fernandez, who played a ball across, which found the feet of Cameron Harper. Harper's shot attempt found the back of the net.

Chicago added a third goal in the 89th minute after New York failed to clear the ball and Shaqiri placed the ball in the bottom left corner of the net.

New York found a late equalizer in the 91st minute, when Fernandez broke down the left side of the field and played a ball to the near post to find forward Patryk Klimala, who tapped the ball in the net.

The Red Bulls extended their unbeaten streak across all competitions to eight matches and have outscored their opponents, 15-7.

Morgan scored his fifth MLS goal of the season, which ranks tied for third among active MLS midfielders this season.

The Scottish winger has scored six goals and tallied two assists across all competitions and scored his second penalty kick goal in his New York career.

This was Morgan's first career goal in Red Bull Arena and has scored eight of his 12 career MLS goals at home.

Harper scored his first career MLS goal, after tallying his first career MLS assist in his first appearance of the season on May 14 against Philadelphia.

Harper made his first career MLS start and his ninth career appearance.

Fernandez tallied his fifth and sixth MLS assists of the season, which ranks tied for second in MLS.

The Bronx, NY native has recorded nine career MLS assists and tallied his first assist at Red Bull Arena since 2019.

Fernandez tallied the first career multi-assist match of his career.

Klimala scored his fourth goal of the season and his third goal against Chicago Fire FC this season.

Cásseres, Jr. recorded his first assist of the season and his 12th career MLS assist.

Amaya earned his fourth assist of the season and his first since March 5 against Toronto FC.

Red Bulls Captain Aaron Long made his 150th appearance across all competitions for New York.

Goalkeeper Carlos Coronel made his 50th career MLS appearance in goal.

Coronel moved into a tie with Mike Ammann for sixth place in franchise history in games played in goal with 46 for New York.

The Brazilian goalkeeper made his 46th career start in goal for the Red Bulls, which is tied for fifth place in franchise history with Mike Ammann and Bouna Coundoul.
