Ports to host Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks Extravaganza on July 3

STOCKTON, Calif. - Following a three-game road trip at San Jose, the Ports return home for a six-game homestand to start off the second half of the 2009 season. The Ports will take on the Lancaster JetHawks, their opponent from the 2008 California League Championship series, from June 28-30, and the San Jose Giants from July 1-3. All games except June 28 will begin at 7:05 p.m. Sunday's game will begin at 6:05 p.m. The Ports are excited to present several exciting promotions for this homestand.

Promotions and Special Events:

Ports Support Youth on Sunday: The Stockton Ports will be hosting a pre-game youth baseball clinic on Sunday, June 28. The clinic is free for all children 12 and under who have a paid ticket to the game on June 28. Youth softball and baseball players aged 12 and under can learn new tips from Ports players and coaches between 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. that day. June 28 is also Little League Night at the ballpark, and all Little Leagues are encouraged to attend. Fans can also meet Oakland A's pitcher and former Stockton Port Dallas Braden on June 28. He will be signing autographs for free for approximately two hours at the game.

The Ports Team Store will also have a Mid-Season Clearance Sale on Sunday, so be sure to take advantage of special deals on Ports merchandise and memorabilia at the game.

Additionally, Sunday, June 28, will feature several weekly promotions. Fans can pick up vouchers for $1 Home Run Hill Tickets from Metro PCS located in College Square, good for all Sunday home games. Every Sunday is also Autograph Sunday, where fans have the opportunity to get select Ports players' autographs before the game. Members of the Everyday Eddie's Kids Club, presented by Subway, also get in free to all Sunday home games. Also kids can run the bases after the game every Sunday.

Youth Baseball Camp: The Stockton Ports will be hosting the 2009 Youth Baseball Camp from Monday, June 29 to Tuesday, June 30 from 9 a.m. to 1p.m. each day. Kids 6-12 are eligible to participate in the camp, and learn the fundamentals of baseball from Ports players and coaches. The cost of the camp is $90, and includes registration for the Camp, an exclusive camp T-shirt, lunch on both days, and two tickets to the June 30th game. All campers will be recognized on the field prior to the Ports game on June 30. Applications to join the Youth Baseball Camp are available at the Ports Front Office at Banner Island Ballpark and online at www.stocktonports.com.

Each Tuesday game at Banner Island Ballpark is a Kraft Singles Tuesday. Fans can redeem one Kraft Singles package wrapper to get one ticket free, courtesy of Kraft, when they purchase one ticket to any Tuesday home game. The buy-one, get-one free ticket deal is good for the Field Box and MVP Sections, and is based on availability.

Thirsty Thursday: The Ports will host post-game fireworks, sponsored by Jackson Rancheria Casino and Hotel on Thursday, July 2nd. Thursday is also another Thirsty Thursday at the ballpark. At each Thursday home game, 16 oz. beverages are only $2.00 (Domestic drafts served until 8:00 p.m.), presented by KWIN 97.7 & 98.3 FM. This will be the first Thirsty Thursday in stadium history to have post-game fireworks!

Independence Day Celebration: The Ports will celebrate the nation's independence on July 3 with several fun, family-friendly festivities. There will be face painters, an appearance by The Stockton Portsmen, holiday-themed in-game entertainment and a fireworks extravaganza, presented by Comcast.

The Ports' 7:05 p.m. game on July 3 will also cap off the All American Bar CRAWL, presented by the Downtown Stockton Alliance. CRAWLERS' wristbands range from $17-$30 and include trolley transportation around and through Downtown Stockton and the Miracle Mile all night, three drinks and three appetizers, cover charge into at least 10 bars and restaurants, a discounted room at the Lexington Plaza Waterfront Hotel and entrance to the Ports Game for the Fireworks Extravaganza! Dress code is strictly enforced. This promotion is hosted by the Downtown Stockton Alliance in partnership with Fat Tire, Coors Light, Blue Moon, DBI Beverages of San Joaquin, San Joaquin RTD, the Stockton Ports, Stocktontickets.com, Stockton Asparagus Festival and the Miracle Mile Improvement District.

The ticket office at the stadium will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday during the season on non-game days. During the season on Monday through Friday game days, the ticket office will be open from 9 a.m. until the end of the game. On weekend game days, the ticket office will be open from 10 a.m. until the end of the game.

What's New with the Ports:

Manager's Luncheon: The Ports will be hosting a Manager's Luncheon on Tuesday, July 28 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Arroyo's Café. Fans who are interested in learning more about the 2009 Ports and picking Manager Aaron Nieckula's brain about the 2009 season are encouraged to RSVP for the event, which benefits the Ports Anchor Fund. The luncheon costs $25 for season ticket holders and $30 for all other fans.

Dylan to Cap off Tour at Banner Island Ballpark: The Stockton Ports are thrilled to announce that they will be hosting a trio of legendary American musicians-Bob Dylan, John Mellencamp and Willie Nelson-in the first concert in the history of Banner Island Ballpark, to be held on Saturday, August 15 at 5:30 p.m.

Tickets are now on sale. Tickets may be purchased through the Stockton Ports ticket office at Banner Island Ballpark, by calling the Ports at (209) 644-1900 or by going online at www.stocktonports.com.

Tickets for the show are priced at $68.50 for general admission. Children ages 14 and under get in free when they are accompanied by a paid adult. Except for the suites and Comcast Club sections, all seats in the stadium for the event will be general admission. There will be two general admission seating areas-the stadium seating bowl and standing-room only seats on the field. The tour will end with the final stop at Banner Island Ballpark.

On the Radio: Every Ports game can be heard on KSTN 1420 AM, the home of the Stockton Ports, this season. Zack Bayrouty, the Voice of the Ports, will be calling the play-by-play for his third season this year. Fans can also hear his radio broadcasts online at www.stocktonports.com as part of the free audio streaming feature.
