Portland Signs Westchester's Brandon Williams
December 27, 2021 - NBA G League (G League)
Westchester Knicks News Release
TARRYTOWN, NY - Brandon Williams of the Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, signed a 10-Day Contract via the NBA's Hardship Exception by the Portland Trail Blazers as announced by the team yesterday.
Williams (tryout), 6'2 190, has appeared in 10 games (six starts) for the Knicks this season, averaging 17.7 points on 36.4-percent to go with 4.0 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 2.0 steals in 31.1 minutes. The Arizona product earned Pac-12 All-Freshman Honorable Mention honors during the 2018-19 season before redshirting his sophomore campaign and going undrafted in the 2021 NBA Draft. Williams will wear No. 5 for the Trail Blazers.
The NBA G League announced last week that its regular season, originally scheduled to tip off on Dec. 27, will begin on Jan. 5, 2022. The delay will give teams an opportunity to safely return players to market after the Christmas holiday and to replenish their rosters following NBA Call-Ups.
Information regarding games originally scheduled between Dec. 27 and Jan. 4 will be provided at a later date.
