The Game was scoreless midway through the 2nd period when Shane Harper appeared to give Everett a 1-0 lead after he deflected a Kyle Beach slap shot past Mucha; the goal was disallowed however when Harper's stick was ruled to be above the crossbar. Shortly thereafter Cameron Abney got tangled up with Sawyer Mick along the boards in Portland's zone; Abney was called a five minute elbowing major. Portland capitalized as Peters and Chris Francis each scored on the man advantage. Peters scored again shortly after the penalty ended to give Portland a 3-0 lead after the second period.
Leading 3-0 heading into the 3rd period, the Winter Hawks increased their lead after Luke Walker scored his team leading 12th goal of the season, off of a deflection, to complete the scoring as Everett falls to 4-1 against Portland this season.
