Pokecheck's Birthday, Presented by Save-On-Foods, this Sunday
October 20, 2021 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Saskatoon Blades News Release
Our next home game is sure to be memorable as we celebrate another trip around the sun for our favourite mascot!
Pokecheck is turning 29 (in Yeti years) on Sunday, October 24th, and you're invited to celebrate with him as the Saskatoon Blades battle Connor Bedard and the Regina Pats at 4:00pm.
Sunday's game will mark the first time NHL top prospect Connor Bedard will make his way into Saskatoon. The 16-year-old was granted exceptional player status by the WHL ahead of the 2020-21 season, and is renowned as a generational talent in the junior hockey world.
Pokecheck will be blowing out the candles on his very own birthday cake, and serving up a special treat for our fans courtesy of Save-On-Foods.
As most of our fans know, Pokecheck loves being the center of attention. We've also extended the invite to all of his fellow mascot friends to join in on the fun, including Bruiser from the Saskatchewan Rush and Gainer the Gopher from the Riders!
Bring your skates!
Following the game, we're inviting our fans to lace up and take part in our first family skate at SaskTel Centre!
Every Sunday game this season will feature a post-game skate at the rink. Don't forget to bring your face mask!
