Playoffs Begin on Friday March 27th vs. Laredo

Odessa Jackalopes News Release


(Odessa, TX) - In preparation for the playoffs the Jackalopes had three playoff style games against the Bees, Blazers, and Bucks last week - three playoff bound teams in the league this year. Odessa will open the Conference Semifinal round against the Laredo Bucks in Odessa on March 27th at 7:05 PM.

Last week's record: 1-2-0

This week's games: Game 1 - Friday vs. Laredo, Game 2 - Saturday vs. Laredo

Odessa @ Rio Grande Valley, 6-4 Loss

Jeff Pierce and Kory Karlander each scored third period power play goals to put the Jackalopes ahead 4-3. The Bees came back however scoring three unanswered goals in the final three minutes of regulation to win the game by a 6-4 margin.

Odessa vs. Oklahoma City, 3-2 Win

Sebastien Thinel netted his sixth game winning goal on the power play at 12:16 of the third period to give the Jackalopes a 3-2 win. Alexandre Vincent stopped 24 of 26 Blazers shots in a physical battle between the two teams. Paul Kelly and Dominic Leveille scored second period goals for Odessa as well.

Odessa vs. Laredo, 5-2 Loss

The playoff rivalry between Odessa and Laredo heated up on the last game of the regular season in a 5-2 loss for the Jacks. 101 combined penalty minutes were handed out in the game including a 10-minute misconduct and a pair of game misconducts to the Bucks.

CHL Playoffs

Conference Semifinals vs. Laredo - Game One and Two, Friday and Saturday 7:05 PM

It's the beginning of the CHL Playoffs for both teams as Odessa looks to avenge last season's sweep at the hands of Laredo. Odessa's last three trips to the postseason have all ended with losses to Laredo. The Jackalopes are 3-11 in playoff games vs. Laredo in those three trips.
