Aberdeen Wings News Release
The Aberdeen Wings players report this week to begin off-ice training and physical workouts with the Wings coaching staff and scouting staff. NAHL teams are allowed to have 30 players under contract at the start of training camp, most of which is made up of returning players, draft picks, and tenders.
Among the returning players making his way back to Aberdeen is Wings forward #12 Austin Heakins from Pittsburgh, PA. As a rookie last year, Heakins played in only 32 games due to an early season injury. During those games played, he scored 3 goals with 4 assists for 7 points. In his final year in the North American Prospect Hockey League, Heakins was the tenth leading scorer in the league with 7 goals and 16 assists.
