New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release
MANCHESTER, N.H. - Mother Nature did her best, but she could only delay the 2015 Fisher Cats season by one day. After a layer of snow and ice covered the ballpark and postponed Thursday's season-opener, the Fisher Cats are ready to play ball tonight at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium at 6:35 p.m. A crew spent the last 30 hours working to clear snow from the field and the stands, and with the temperature expected to reach the mid-fifties by game time tonight, Opening Day is here.
"It's been a busy period for our team and staff since early yesterday morning, but we are ready to go tonight," said Rick Brenner, Fisher Cats president and general manager. "The snow is gone, the forecast is calling for perfect baseball weather this weekend, and we can't wait to see our fans starting in just a few hours."
Fans at tonight's game will enjoy the first Friday night live band with pre-game music by Dronehead Odyssey on the concourse. The first 2,500 fans will receive a 2015 magnet schedule, courtesy of Elliot Orthopaedics. After the game, the first of a record 34 Atlas Fireworks shows will provide an explosive end to the first game of the year.
Weather forecasts are calling for temps to warm considerably, surging into the fifties by game time tonight with an even better forecast for the weekend. While fans enjoy all-you-can-eat hamburgers, hot dogs, and nachos on Saturday, they'll bask in a sunny day with temps pushing 60 degrees. Sunday, the mercury rises closer to 70 before breaking the 70-degree mark on Monday.
Tickets are available for tonight's debut game of the season starting at just $6. Tickets may be purchased at www.nhfishercats.com, via telephone at (603) 641-2005, and in-person at the box office at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. Fans with tickets to Thursday's postponed game may redeem those tickets for tonight's contest, or any future game in the 2015 regular season.
