San Bernardino, CA- The Inland Empire 66ers used strong pitching and timely hitting to down the Visalia Rawhide 5-1 on Sunday at San Manuel Stadium. The win made it three in a row over the Rawhide and secured the series victory three-games-to-one.

Angels righty Joe Smith started the game on the mound for the Sixers on a Major League Injury Rehab assignment and rolled through his one perfect inning of work on eight pitches. Justin Anderson started the second for the Sixers on his originally scheduled start date and did not disappoint. The Sixers capped their scoring in the sixth when Fletcher drilled a two-out, two-run single to push the lead to 5-1.

The Rawhide mounted a serious threat in the eighth inning loading the bases with no outs by taking three consecutive walks. Southpaw Kevin Grendell came out of the pen for Inland Empire and promptly mowed down the next three batters via the strikeout to end the trouble. Grendell has struck out six consecutive batters over his two outings in the series. Keynan Middleton tossed a perfect ninth to finish off the Rawhide. Fletcher, Moyer, Zach Houchins and Ayendy Perez all tallied two hit games for the Sixers; Perez and Tim Arakawa each had doubles. Tyler Baker had two hits for the Rawhide and the club's lone RBI.
