Pitcher Orlando Santos Makes His Way to Bridgeport

Bridgeport, Conn. - Bridgeport Bluefish team officials today announced the signing of pitcher Orlando Santos.

"We think Orlando will be a solid asset to our bullpen," said Bluefish Manager Luis Rodriguez. "We're very happy to have him join us at this point in the season and look forward to seeing what he will do."

Orlando Santos joins the 'Fish during his eighth season of professional baseball and third in the Atlantic League. He began the 2016 campaign with the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs and New Britain Bees, both of the Atlantic League. In 31 combined appearances, he collected 25 strikeouts in 29.1 innings. The 29-year-old began his professional career in 2009 with Rookie-level Bristol (Chicago-White Sox) of the Appalachian League. He spent three seasons with the White Sox organization reaching the High-A level in 2011 before joining the independent ranks in the Frontier League. In 267 career minor league games, Orlando has a 20-18 record with a 3.35 ERA and 330 strikeouts in 338.2 innings of work.
