Portland Pirates News Release
Saco, ME - The Portland Pirates today announced that they have reassigned forward Dan O'Donoghue to their ECHL affiliate, the Gwinnett Gladiators.
O'Donoghue, a 6-foot-5, 210 pound center from Port Jefferson, New York, has played 16 games with Portland this season, registering 2 penalty minutes. His most recent appearance for the Pirates came on February 13 against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
Earlier this season, O'Donoghue played five games for Gwinnett and scored one goal and added an assist for two points.
The 24 year-old signed a two-year entry level contract with the Arizona Coyotes in April, 2014. Before joining the Coyotes organization, he played four years of college hockey with the Mercyhurst University Lakers.
O'Donoghue will join the Gladiators in time for their game Wednesday night on the road against the Florida Everblades.
The Pirates continue their four-game home stand Wednesday night at the Cross Insurance Arena with Game 7 of the Eimskip Port-to-Port Challenge against the St. John's IceCaps. Game time is 7:00 p.m. To save up to 40% off game day ticket prices, call 207-PIRATES!
