SPRINGFIELD, Mass. ... The American Hockey League announced today that Syracuse Crunch center Vladislav Namestnikov has been selected as the CCM/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Feb. 22, 2015.
Namestnikov notched three goals and three assists for six points along with a plus-5 rating in three games last week as the Crunch moved into first place in the overall AHL standings.
On Friday night, Namestnikov scored once and assisted on the game-winning goal as Syracuse got past Albany, 3-1. On Saturday, he tallied an assist to help the Crunch past Binghamton, 5-3. And on Sunday, Namestnikov recorded his first two-goal game of the season and tied a career high with three points as Syracuse pulled out a 4-3 win at Rochester.
A first-round selection (27th overall) by Tampa Bay in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, Namestnikov has registered 12 goals and 18 assists for 30 points in 31 games for Syracuse this season, along with three goals and four assists in 26 National Hockey League matches with the Lightning. A 22-year-old native of Zhukovsky, Russia, Namestnikov also represented Syracuse at the 2015 AHL All-Star Classic last month. In 131 career AHL games, all with Syracuse, the third-year pro has totaled 38 goals and 61 assists for 99 points.
In recognition of his achievement, Namestnikov will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Crunch home game.
