
Pirates Announce Updated "Goals for Good" Scores

Lewiston, Maine - The Portland Pirates, AHL Affiliate of the Phoenix Coyotes, announced updated totals for the inaugural Goals for Good program today. Each of the Goals for Good sponsors has an in-ice advertisement for the 2013-14 season at the Androscoggin Bank Colisée in Lewiston. For every goal scored by the Pirates from the sponsor's portion of the ice, a $100 donation will be made to a charity of the sponsor's choosing.
With 12 home games remaining this season, L.L. Bean leads in donations with $3,200 raised for Healthy Hometowns. Baxter Brewing Co. has seen 17 goals from their logo to increase their donation amount to Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice to $1,700. On Target Utility Services, will donate $1,400 to Maine Children's Cancer Program, and Electricity Maine will make a $1,300 contribution to New Beginnings. The total amount donated to the four charities through 26 Pirates home games is $7,600.
The amount each charity will receive will be tracked online on the Pirates website throughout the remainder of the season at portlandpirates.com/community/goalsforgood as well as announced during every Pirates home game.
The Pirates return to action Thursday night when they host the Worcester Sharks at 7 pm at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in a game rescheduled from Friday the 28th. The first 1500 fans will receive a Chris Brown Bobblehead courtesy of Bath Savings Institution. Thursday's game can be heard on the Pirates flagship stations WPEI 95.5/95.9 FM as well as WEZR FM 105.5/AM 1240 in the Lewiston/Auburn area and WTME AM 780/1450 in Oxford County. The game can also be heard online at portlandpirates.com by clicking "Listen Live" and can be seen live on AHL Live at ahllive.com. The pregame show starts at 6:40 with Jeff Mannix.
