Wed., Feb. 19 - PENGUINS 3 vs. Binghamton 4 (OT)
Chris Wideman's power play goal 30 seconds into overtime helped the Senators complete a rally from two goals down and score a 4-3 win over the Penguins. Nick Drazenovic figured in all three goals for WBS with a goal and two assists.
Sat., Feb. 22 - PENGUINS 3 vs. Providence 4 (SO)
A back-and-forth affair between Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Providence saw the Bruins prevail in the shootout for a final score of 4-3. Spencer Machacek posted his first two-goal performance as a Penguin to help his team earn a point.
Tue., Feb. 25 - PENGUINS 6 vs. Hershey 5
Machacek registered his second straight two-goal contest, while Andrew Ebbett notched a goal and two assists as the Penguins fended off the Bears, 6-5, to claim the 12-game season series. Pierre-Luc Letourneau also collected two assists in the match for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
The Week Ahead
Fri., Feb. 28 - Penguins at SYRACUSE
After winning just once in their previous 13 games, the Crunch (20-23-4-5) are coming off a two-game weekend sweep of the Hershey Bears. The Penguins have gone 5-1-0-1 this season versus the Crunch and have won the previous two meetings in Syracuse.
Sat., Mar. 1 - Penguins at ALBANY
Albany (29-17-3-5) went perfect over three matches last weekend to pull within five points of Springfield for first place in the Northeast Division. In the only other meeting this season between the Devils and Penguins, Mike Sislo recorded a hat trick and one assist for a 6-5 win on Nov. 8.
Ice Chips
- Brendan Mikkelson's shorthanded goal on Tuesday versus Hershey was the Penguins' ninth of the season, ranking them third in the AHL.
- Machacek has netted two goals in each of his last two games and has six tallies in his first seven games with WBS.
- Machacek became the first Penguin to score multiple goals in consecutive games since Ben Street also tallied two goals apiece on March 9 and 10, 2012.
- Nick Drazenovic has six points (1g-5a) in his last three matches.
