Pirates Address COVID-19
When it comes to sports, most activities have been canceled or postponed, but the Massachusetts Pirates and the NAL are confident they will be competing in 2020.
Pirates Owner and President Jawad Yatim continues to have an optimistic outlook when it comes to the season on the horizon.
"We are discussing as a league how we are going to handle this particular situation, but with our season not commencing for approximately another month we have the advantage of being able to attack this situation ahead of time from a scheduling standpoint as opposed to dealing with it head on which a lot of these other leagues are currently having to do. We are confident we will be competing in 2020, but for now the games originally scheduled on April 11 & 18 are in the process of being rescheduled. The new dates will be announced in the near future. In the meantime, please keep your tickets which will be honored on the rescheduled dates. Additionally any changes that may be required will be posted on our website at www.masspiratesfootball.com" he said.
Yatim assures Pirate Nation that efforts will be made to accommodate the fans.
"For any cancelled games, we will obviously issue refunds to the appropriate parties. For any re-scheduled games simply hold on to your ticket and present it during the adjusted date for admittance into the game. If you are unable to attend the rescheduled date, you may exchange your ticket for any regular season game or return your ticket for a full refund to the point of purchase. We are certainly going to be working with all our fans to ensure they are satisfied with their experience and however we can assist and ensure that Pirate Nation is content this upcoming season, we will do so. We look forward to the day where we are running out of that tunnel at the DCU Center in front of our amazing fans. We will be making additional updates when we have some more concrete information and wish all the best to everyone during this tough time."
