BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Jace Van De Brake and Darrion Simons joined forces with some of the best players in the West Coast League Monday, as part of the 2015 All-Star Game at Joe Martin Field.

Simons worked on the mound in the 6th inning and faced three members of the Bend Elks. He started with a strikeout of Tyler Davis, one of the league's best hitters. After a one-out walk, he induced a flyout to right and got out of the inning when the runner was caught stealing.

Van De Brake went 0-3 in his three trips to the plate. The Yakima-native started in left field and moved to center field midway through the game. He also participated in the league's scouting combine pregame.

Mitch Skaggs also donned the Pippins uniform in Bellingham on Monday as part of the home run derby. Down to his final out, he blasted a homer to deep left-center field for the first home run among derby participants.

The Pippins representatives were part of the North team, which lost 3-0 to the South. Kitsap's Jake Scudder was named all-star game MVP after going 2-3 with a walk.

Yakima Valley (20-16) returns home for a three-game series with the Bend Elks (28-8) Tuesday at 7:05 pm. It's the first two-dollar Tuesday of the season, plus the Mariner Moose will be in attendance. Tickets are available at PippinsBaseball.com, (509) 575-HITS or at Hunky Shaw's Team Shop in downtown Yakima.
