Pioneers Look to Tame Wolves

Wilkes-Barre, PA- The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers will host the Manchester Wolves on Friday, May 27th at 7:30 pm at the Wachovia Arena in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
The Pioneers are coming off of a tough loss in week 8 to the Rio Grande Valley Dorados 52-49. It was a close game through all four quarters with time expiring on the Pioneers offensive efforts. The Pioneers will be looking for a win at home against the Wolves this Friday night.
The Manchester Wolves are coming to Wilkes-Barre ranked number 1 in the Coach's Poll and with a six game winning streak under their belts. Manchester will be looking to make it seven wins in a row. The Wolves' last battle was against the South Georgia Wildcats in week 8, proving themselves victors with a final score of 46-21.
Pioneers QB, Kyle Rowley, is ranked 4th in Total Offense, Total Offensive Yards, Pass Completion Percentage, Passing Yards per Attempt and Passes Complete; 3rd in Total Offensive Touchdowns, Passing Average per Game and Passing Yards; 2nd in Total Offense Average per Game and 1st in Passing Touchdowns. Offensive Specialist JR Thomas is ranked 4th in Scoring, Scoring (TD) and Receiving Yards per Game; 3rd in Receptions per Game, Receptions, Receptions for Touchdowns; 2nd in All-Purpose Yards and Kick Return Yards. Kicker David Davis is ranked 3rd in Scoring (kick) and Wide Receiver/Defensive Back Rocco Forgione is ranked 5th in Receptions per Game and Receptions. Defensive Specialists Jamie Hattley and Ronnie Kaymore are ranked 7th and 8th with 38 and 32 tackles, respectively.
This week's game theme will be Military Appreciation Night. The honorary captain will be Company First Sergeant Matthew Andrasko of the Bravo Company. Local recording artists, The Collective, will be playing before the game and during half time. This week's door give away will be Soft USA Footballs.
