Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers News Release

Wilkes-Barre, PA - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers are pleased to announce that the team's "Camp Out to Sell Out" campaign has had another successful day.

"Today was very busy," said Pioneers President Dave Berryman. "Now that Ticketmaster is up and running, we've been able to process most of our orders, and have been busy taking new ones as well."

"However, we've still got a little over 3,500 tickets to sell. But the closer we get to our deadline, the more determined we are to reach our goal for the Baker family," he added.

As of 2:00pm Wednesday afternoon, the team estimates 4,000 tickets have either been purchased or ordered for this Saturday's game against the Manchester Wolves. The Pioneers front office staff, as well as other guests, will continue to camp out in front of the team's administrative offices until this weekend's game is sold out.

The team hopes to be able to present a check for $20,000 to the family of SGT Sherwood Baker, who was killed in Iraq last month. In order to present the check for the Sherwood Baker Memorial Fund, the June 5th game must be sold out.

The game, which has been designated as Military Appreciation Night, will also feature an induction ceremony at halftime for 25 U.S. Army enlistees.

Fans may inquire about ticket availability for the June 5th game by calling the team at (570) 270-5811 or (570) 270-3848. Anyone interested in purchasing tickets may also do so by visiting the "Pioneer Village," located directly in front of 275 Mundy Street in Wilkes-Barre Township.
