
Pioneers Assigned Pete McBride for 2007

(Wilkes-Barre, PA) The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers are pleased to announce the assignment of WR/DB Pete McBride to the 2007 roster. McBride is a 5'10, 180-pound former defensemen for the Temple University Owls and the af2's Albany Conquest. McBride had an outstanding 2003 season with the Owls when he played in all 12 games, led the team with four interceptions for a total of 30 yards, and had 35 tackles (23 unassisted).
McBride, who during his second year with af2 was a part of the Albany Conquest, led his team again in tackles with 52 (43 unassisted), acquired five kick returns for a total of 65 yards and had three interceptions.
The Pioneers are very excited with the addition of McBride who comes from their divisional opponent the Albany Conquest. McBride will help strengthen an already talented Pioneers' defense, which is now lead by Pioneer Leader and standout Joe Hollister, Tennessee-Chattanooga standout Troy Blackwell, rookie Jason Williams from the University of Connecticut, and the University of Virginia's Merrill Robertson.
