Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers News Release
(Wilkes-Barre, PA) With the 2007 season right around the corner, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers proudly announce the addition of two rookies to their growing roster. Will Jones and Sir Snowden will join the Pioneers this season, bringing fresh talent and enthusiasm to the Pioneers' defense.
Will Jones (6'0, 190 lb.) enters his first season in the af2, after serving as a valuable defensive back for Lock Haven University. During his junior year, Jones recorded 38 tackles (25 unassisted) and one interception for a return of 18 yards. In his final year as a Bald Eagle, Jones played in all games except for one, and recorded a total of 44 tackles (25 unassisted) and two interceptions.
Sir Snowden (6'2, 190 lb.), also makes his debut to the af2, following a distinguished college football career with Southern Connecticut State University. Snowden led the Owls' secondary, earning a long list of accomplishments along the way. His honors include being named a three-time All-Northeast 10 Conference Safety, as well as earning spots within the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC Division II), and the New England Football Writers Select Division II/III Football All-Stars.
As the Pioneers look to build off of last seasons' records, the versatility and talent presented by Jones and Snowden should make for a successful 2007 season.
