Pink Unlucky for 67's

October 24, 2009 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Ottawa 67's News Release

Our Ottawa 67's were "pretty in pink" tonight in honour of our annual "Pink Game". All the players and officials were sporting pink jerseys, which will be auctioned off, with the proceeds going to breast cancer research. Although they were defeated by the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors with a final score of 7-4, our Ottawa 67's fought until the end.

The ceremonial puck drop last night was done by three fabulous ladies representing the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Thanks to co-chair of the Ottawa-Gatineau Run for the Cure race, Rachel Tweedy, Medical Director of A Touch of Light Clinic, Dr. Suzanne Rydzik, and Ottawa 67's Season Ticket Holder, Cathy Bryden.

Congratulations to team Silver Lining in last night's Caradonna Wrap-off. Wrap-art is what you see on those company cars (photographed below). It's not paint! The teams raced to wrap two cars in five layers of cellophane. Despite numerous sabotage attempts from both teams, Silver Lining won by a landslide.

Where is he? Fan favorite "Find Killer Puck" was the entertainment for the second intermission last night. "Sunshine", from the Carleton University Engineering Society was successful in finding our Killer, and walked away with four admissions to the Hockey Hall of Fame and tickets to a future Ottawa 67's game. Also during the intermission, Dalton Smith from our Ottawa 67's was awarded the Welch LLP Academic Award for his scholastic achievements in the last month.

We'll be taking on the Saginaw Spirit this Sunday, we hope to see you there, where we'll be writing from the stands !
