Fort Worth Cats News Release
FORT WORTH -Fireworks, postgame concerts, and flyovers are just the beginning to a fantastic home stand coming up for the first place Fort Worth Cats.
The Fort Worth Cats are currently on their second-longest road trip of the year as they fight for sole possession of first place. The Cats return on Wednesday, June 27 to begin an exciting 8-game home stand that features some very special nights at historic LaGrave Field.
June 29 is Pink in the Park Night as the Fort Worth Cats host the McAllen Thunder. The evening will be like none other this season, as the Cats' players and staff will be teaming up with the Susan G. Komen Foundation in the fight against breast cancer. The Fort Worth Cats will be wearing pink jerseys and hats during the game, and during the game an auction will take place at LaGrave Field on each individual jersey. The highest bidder for each player will get to take their jersey home with them. Proceeds from the jersey auction will go to the Greater Fort Worth branch of the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
In addition to the proceeds from the auction, fans who want to want to come to Pink in the Park can purchase their tickets online and use the promo code "KOMEN". Three dollars from every ticket purchase will also be given to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
After the game, a postgame concert will take place. The Fort Worth Cats and Basham Entertainment have come together to start the First Base Concert Series at LaGrave Field. Outstanding female artists Ali Dee, Whitney Raque, Ara Chelsea, and Van Parien will headline the Pink in the Park Night. A ticket to the game that evening will get the fan into the concert for free.
Sunday, July 1 is Military Night at LaGrave Field. All tickets, like every Sunday, are just five dollars, and all fans with a military ID will receive free parking. Not only will the Cats honor Military members all evening, but also a special flyover will take place following the national anthem. The Cats will commemorate the game by wearing camouflage jerseys and hats. These jerseys will also be auctioned off after the game to the fans with the highest bid with the proceeds going to the Wounded Warrior Project.
Independence Day festivities have always been a special tradition to the Fort Worth Cats organization and this year is no different. July 3 will have Dodger skydiving onto the field before the game. A fireworks display will take place immediately following the game presented by Cook Children's Medical Center.
"We are very proud to announce our partnership with Cook Children's. We are a family oriented venue that provides children an intimate look of what baseball is all about. We feel this is a perfect relationship and look forward to the future with Cook Children's," says Cats General Manager Chris Hart.
July 4 will have a pregame flyover by the United States Air Force, followed by local military recognition on the field. The Cats will be wearing special Independence Day uniforms, and fans at LaGrave Field will have a great view of the fireworks displayed by the city of Fort Worth. Immediately following the fireworks, local country artist Steve Helms will take the stage.
Tickets for all of these special nights at LaGrave Field can be purchased online at FWCats.com or by phone at (817) 332-CATS.
