MOBILE, Ala. - The Chicago Cubs announced a series of transactions that impacts their Double-A affiliate Tennessee Smokies roster prior to today's doubleheader against the Mobile BayBears at Hank Aaron Stadium in Mobile, Alabama.

Right-handed starting pitcher Ivan Pineyro has been activated from the Disabled List and is expected to start the second game of today's twinbill. Prior to his injury in mid-May, the 22-year-old posted an 0-2 record and 3.60 ERA (14 ER in 35.0 IP) in seven starts with the Smokies.

In addition, right-handed starting pitcher Eduardo Figueroa has been placed on the Disabled List retroactive to August 9. In 12 appearances, including 11 starts, with Tennessee this season, the Venezuela native has compiled a 2-1 record and 4.44 ERA (24 ER in 48.2 IP).

Tennessee's active roster stands at 25 and a revised roster is attached.

The Smokies are slated to face the BayBears in a doubleheader today, with first pitch scheduled for 2:05 p.m. ET, and the second contest beginning approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one. Tennessee is set to give the nod to RHP Pierce Johnson in game one, followed by Pineyro in game two. After an offday Monday, the Smokies return home to face the Huntsville Stars at 7:15 p.m. at Smokies Stadium.
