NEWARK, NY - Six Newark Pilots went to Lyons Union School this morning to talk to fifth grade students. The players talked about the importance of teamwork, what its like to be a student-athlete, and how important it is to be a good role model in the community.
The six players who attended were Catcher Jonathan Parker (Jones County JC), Infielder Graham Hackbarth (Pearl River CC), Outfielders D'Marcus Guillory (Motlow State CC) and Over Torres (Yavapai CC), and Pitchers Jake Bernardo (Fordham University) and Kyle Griffen (Louisiana Tech).
"We had a great time talking to the kids," stated Parker. "Giving them a different perspective for when they are older, hopefully these kids continue their hard work on and off the field."
