August 26, 2015 - International League (IL1)
Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will try to complete the three-game sweep of the Buffalo Bisons on Wednesday night. First pitch of the series finale is set for 7:05 p.m. at Coca-Cola Park.
LHP Anthony Vasquez (7-6, 4.22) gets the start for the Pigs on Wednesday night. The southpaw was tagged with the loss on August 19 at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre after allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits while walking three over 6.2 IP. Tonight will mark Vasquez's third start of the year against the Bisons. He was tagged with the loss on June 25 at Coca-Cola Field in Buffalo when he gave up five runs on six hits in 3.1 IP.
RHP Scott Copeland (10-4, 2.43) will be on the bump for manager Gary Allenson's squad. Copeland earned the win on Friday vs. Syracuse when he surrendered four hits while fanning three over seven shutout innings. The right-hander has allowed one earned run or less in six of his last seven starts and will be making his second start of the year against Lehigh Valley. Back on April 16 at Coca-Cola Field, Copeland got the win against the Pigs when he tossed seven innings of one-run ball.
With a four-hit game on Tuesday, IronPigs 1B Tommy Joseph notched his first four-hit game since May 4, 2014 with Double-A Reading. Since returning from the disabled list on August 14, Joseph is hitting .238-1-5 with a pair of doubles and three runs scored.
The first 3,000 fans 18 and older will receive an IronPigs Visor presented by Talen Energy. Wednesday is also Ladies Night presented by the Lehigh Valley Sporting Clays and a TD Bank Dog Day benefitting Logan's Heroes Animal Rescue.
