
Pierre Pilote On Hand To Introduce Canada Post Stamp Series

Barrie, ON- The Barrie Colts today announced that fans in the Barrie area will have the opportunity to meet one of hockey's legends on Saturday, February 26 at 7:30 p.m. at the Barrie Molson Centre, thanks to Canada Post.
Pierre Pilote, the former Black Hawks great will be present at the Molson Centre to promote the launch of the sixth series of stamps recognizing hockey's greatest players. This year's series feature goaltender Grant Fuhr, forwards Henri Richard, John Bucyk, and Bryan Trottier and defensemen Allan Stanley and Pierre Pilote.
On Saturday, Pilote will autograph Canada Post product in the Molson Centre North Concourse during the first and second period intermissions at the game featuring the Barrie Colts and Kingston Frontenacs.
Pilote will autograph a maximum of two items. He will autograph only Canada Post product.
Pierre Pilote held the scoring record for original six defensemen after recording 59 points in 1964-65. He joined the Black Hawks in 1955 and led them to their first Stanley Cup victory in over 20 years in 1961. Acting as captain of the team until he was traded in 1967, his playmaking skills and toughness made them the league's most dangerous offensive team. He was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1975.
In addition to stamps, souvenir sheets and First Day Covers there are several unique gift items available, including hockey coasters, limited-edition lithographs, and an All-Star commemorative set consisting of stamps, medallions and other products.
