Birner, Harrison Earn Spirit Player of the Week Honors

Saginaw Spirit forwards Michal Birner and Tom Harrison are the team's Players of the Week for the week ending February 20th, 2005.

Birner had a goal and two assists in three weekend games. The 19 year old native of the Czech Republic joined the Spirit in December, after a trade with the Barrie Colts.

Harrison had a goal and was +1 in three weekend games. He contributed to the Spirit at forward and defense, while logging significant time on the Spirit penalty kill. Harrison is a 20 year old native of Thunder Bay Ontario, and the Spirit Captain.

The Saginaw Spirit, Mid-Michigan's Ontario Hockey League (OHL) Franchise plays 34 home games from September to March. The OHL is part of the Canadian Hockey League (CHL), which also includes the Western Hockey League (WHL) and the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).
