Kitchener Rangers News Release
Kitchener, ON: The Kitchener Rangers announced this morning that the Gill family of Kitchener has been selected as the winners of the first ever Kitchener Rangers - Home Depot Backyard Rink contest.
The winning rink was built by Paul Gill and his 4 sons â Cameron (16), Matt (20), Adam (21) and Ryan (22). Together the family put in more than three weeks of hard work and preparation to get the rink ready for game condition.
Throughout the winter the family and neighbors have used the rink on a regular basis. "There were a couple of great family games over the Christmas holidays", said Debbie Gill.
Over the past 2 months fans were encouraged to enter their backyard rinks online via the Rangers official website, www.kitchenerrangers.com. During that time nearly 200 entries were submitted from fans across the Region.
For winning the contest the family receives a private visit from members of the Kitchener Rangers hockey team to their rink.
