Phoenix Suns Assign 1st Round Pick Earl Clark To Energy

NEW YORK, March 15, 2010 - Phoenix Suns rookie forward Earl Clark was assigned to the Iowa Energy, the Suns' NBA Development League affiliate, it was announced today. Clark's assignment, the 30th of the 2009-10 NBA D-League season, is the first of his career. He joins teammate Taylor Griffin as Suns who have been assigned to the Energy this season.

The 6-10, 225-pounder out of the University of Louisville has appeared in 45 games for the Suns this season, averaging 2.7 points, 1.1 rebounds and 7.7 minutes. He scored a career-high 14 points in a 120-95 road victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Nov. 27, 2009.

Clark was selected by the Suns with the 14th overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft following a three-year career at Louisville. During his final NCAA season, Clark averaged 14.2 points, 8.7 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 37 games and earned All-Big East Third Team honors playing for the Big East Champion Cardinals.
