Phoenix Rising Midfielder Solomon Asante Named to USL Championship Team of the Week

PHOENIX - Phoenix Rising midfielder Solomon Asante was named to the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 2 of the 2019 USL Championship season the league announced today. On Saturday evening, Asante scored two of the club's three goals in a 3-3 draw with New Mexico United. He also completed 27 of 33 (81.8%) of his passes in the midfield.
This is the fourth time Asante has been named to the USL Championship Team of the Week. He has been an honorable mention four additional times. This is the second time in 2019 that a Rising FC player has been recognized by the league. In week 1, Junior Flemmings was a Team of the Week Honorable Mention.
Phoenix Rising is off this weekend but returns home to Casino Arizona Field on Saturday, March 30, for a match against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC. The first 2,500 fans who enter will receive a Phoenix Rising t-shirt courtesy of HP2 Promotions. The match kicks off at 7:30 p.m. and gates open at 6 p.m. Fans can purchase their tickets by going to PHXRisingFC.com.
