Phoenix Mercury News Release

PHOENIX - The three-time WNBA Champion Phoenix Mercury today announced the team's two-game preseason schedule for 2021, a pair of matchups with the Seattle Storm. The Mercury will host Seattle on Saturday, May 8, at 3 p.m. Phoenix time inside the team's newly renovated arena in downtown Phoenix. Following the May 8 matchup, the Mercury will travel to Seattle to take on the Storm in a closed scrimmage on Monday, May 10.

The Mercury have announced plans to mimic the Phoenix Suns' current fan plan and host approximately 5,000 distanced, masked patrons to start the season. The team's three May home games (preseason game on May 8, Fry's Food Stores Opening Night on May 21, and May 26) will go on sale to the public in the coming weeks.

Following the Mercury's home preseason game on May 8 and road scrimmage on May 10, Phoenix will open up the 2021 regular season with a three-game road trip against the Minnesota Lynx (May 14), Connecticut Sun (May 16) and Washington Mystics (May 18). Following the road trip, the Mercury will host Connecticut at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 21 for Fry's Food Stores Opening Night.

WNBA all-time leading scorer Diana Taurasi, two-time WNBA scoring champion Brittney Griner and four-time WNBA All-Star Skylar Diggins-Smith return to Phoenix this summer, as the trio attempts to lead the Mercury to a WNBA-record tying fourth championship in 2021.
