
Philadelphia Union to Host D.C. United in Heineken Rivalry Week

CHESTER, Pa. - Philadelphia Union announced Tuesday that it will host the first edition of MLS' Heineken Rivalry Week of the 2016 season on May 20 against D.C. United. The match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. kickoff and will be televised nationally on UniMás.
Fans will have an opportunity to have their voice be heard in this matchup. Supporters from both sides will be able to vote on the name of the rivalry via Twitter. Supporters can choose from #I95CUP, #CAPITALCUP, #FREEDOMCUP or #COLONIALCUP. The voting begins May 4 and will conclude on May 6.
Supporters will also have a chance to win two tickets to the match just by submitting a match-poster that best exemplifies the rivalry. The poster contest will run through May 6-16, starting after the hashtag poll closes at 5 p.m. with the winner being announced on May 17. Each club will select a winning poster. The selected poster for United will be revealed at D.C. United's viewing party and receive two tickets to the August 6 matchup between the two clubs in D.C.
This is the first time in the young history of Heineken Rivalry Week that the Philadelphia Union will be featured.

They have a tremendous amount of passion for the game and we look forward to displaying that to the rest of the nation."
Union attacking midfielder and former D.C. United first round pick Chris Pontius will be hosting a Facebook Live Session and providing content leading up to the match.

The Philadelphia Union return to Talen Energy Stadium May 11 against LA Galaxy for a midweek matchup. Kick is scheduled for 7 p.m. and will be broadcasted on The Comcast Network.
