Red Bull New York News Release
HARRISON, N.J. - New York Red Bulls' defender Kemar Lawrence and Homegrown midfielder Derrick Etienne, Jr. have been named to their respective nation's 40-man provisional rosters for the Copa America Centenario, which will be held across the United States this Summer. Lawrence has been named to Jamaica's initial roster, and Etienne Jr. has been named to the Haiti 40-man squad.
Lawrence became a regular with the senior national team in 2015, and played with the Reggae Boyz in the Copa America and the Gold Cup last summer, reaching the Gold Cup final before falling to Mexico 3-1. He earned his first call up for Jamaica at the Under-17 level. Lawrence got his first call into the senior national team for a CONCACAF qualifier against Panama in September 2013 and earned his first cap in November of the same year in a friendly against Trinidad & Tobago. Lawrence was also a part of the Caribbean Cup-winning side in 2014.
Etienne Jr. has appeared at several youth international levels for Haiti, most notably as part of Haiti's U-20 side for the 2015 U-20 CONCACAF Championships. The midfielder played for Haiti's U-17 National Team in World Cup qualifier at CONCACAF U-17 Championships in 2013. He was signed as a Homegrown Player on December 21, 2015. Etienne Jr. signed with New York as a Homegrown Player in December of 2015.
The Red Bulls are back in action with a match at Orlando City on Friday, May 6, with a 7 p.m. kickoff at Camping World Stadium. Coverage on the match will be on UniMas, with English and Spanish radio coverage on Red Bulls Radio via TuneIn.
New York returns home to host the Chicago Fire on Wednesday, May 18, at 7:30 p.m. at Red Bull Arena.
