Philadelphia Union Kick off "The U Thank U" Month

Chester, Pa. (Oct. 1, 2013) - Philadelphia Union kicked off "The U Thank U" month today, as the club will host contests and have great giveaways during the entire month of October to thank dedicated Union fans for their support during the 2013 season.

As part of the interactive campaign, fans will have the opportunity to compete in a social media scavenger hunt in Philadelphia on Sunday, Oct. 13 to win two field-level tickets to the Union's match on Oct. 26 against Sporting Kansas City at 3 p.m. ET. At halftime, the winner will also be able to compete in a crossbar challenge for the chance to win a pair of 2014 Season Tickets.

Starting Oct. 6, fans can nominate the Philadelphia Union "Fans' Fan of the Year" on Twitter using the hashtag #TheUThankU, with the winner receiving an authentic Philadelphia Union jersey, two tickets to a Union match in 2014 and first access to the 2014 Meet the Team event.

Philadelphia Union will also be holding a tifo and fan art showcase contest for a chance to win an autographed bandanna from the 2013 Philadelphia Union first team. Fans can submit photos of tifo that will be shown on Philadelphia Union's Facebook page, with the most-liked photo taking home the prize.

On Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 6 p.m. ET, Philadelphia Union will host a Soccer Education Forum at PPL Park to discuss the youth academy and college soccer landscape. The panel includes Philadelphia Union defender Chris Albright, Assistant Coach Jim Curtin and Academy coach Tommy Wilson, among others. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. ET.

The Union take on Toronto FC this Saturday, Oct. 5 at 7:30 p.m. ET. The match, presented by Toyota, will mark Breast Cancer Awareness Night at PPL Park, as the first 5,000 women to enter the stadium will receive pink tote bags and the first 15,000 fans will receive pink car magnets. Additionally, Saturday will be Dollar Dog Night at PPL Park and Preston and Steve of WMMR will serve as honorary captains for the match.

During the Union's away match vs. Montreal Impact Saturday, Sept. 19 at 2 p.m. ET, Philadelphia Union will host an away viewing party at a location to be determined by fan voting.

In the last match of MLS regular season play, Philadelphia Union face Sporting Kansas City on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 3 p.m. ET. The game will be presented by Bimbo Bakeries USA and the first 10,000 fans to enter gates will receive a complimentary 2013 Philadelphia Union team photograph.
