Memphis, Tenn. - Memphis and Omaha battled for 12 innings before Josh Phelps belted a three-run, walk-off home run to send the Redbirds home a 6-5 winner Sunday afternoon at AutoZone Park.

The Royals scored twice in the top of the 12th inning to claim the lead going into the bottom of the inning. Brian Barden and Jarrett Hoffpauir led the inning off with singles before Nick Stavinoha bounced into a fielder's choice to put runners on the corners. Phelps then played the hero hitting a three-run homer to center field to end the game and send the 'Birds into the All-Star break 10 games above .500. Phelps finished the day 3-for-6 with two runs scored and three RBI.

Mark Worrell picked up the win despite allowing two runs in one inning of relief work. Starter Mitchell Boggs tossed seven solid innings and gave up two runs on four hits. Tyler Lumsden was pinned with the loss after giving up Phelps' home run. Omaha starter Carlos Rosa pitched six scoreless innings with six strikeouts before giving way to the bullpen, which allowed six runs on 11 hits over 5.1 innings.

Memphis finishes the first half of their Pacific Coast League season one win shy of the franchise record (55) set in 2000 on their way to the PCL Championship. Nick Stavinoha will represent the Redbirds at the Triple-A All-Star game in Louisville, KY on Wednesday night. The game is scheduled to be televised on ESPN2 beginning at 7 p.m. EDT. The Redbirds resume their PCL schedule on Friday, July 18 at Oklahoma with game time slated for 7:05 p.m.
