Sioux Falls Canaries News Release
SIOUX FALLS - The Winnipeg Goldeyes have sent Brandon native Jack Van Leur back to the Sioux Fall Pheasants as his own player to be named later, completing the late-season trade between the two clubs.
Van Leur, a left-handed relief pitcher, departed for Winnipeg in mid-August after posting 39 appearances, a 3-1 record and a 3.78 ERA with Sioux Falls. He issued seven walks and 23 strikeouts. He was particularly adept at retiring left-handed hitters, who batted just .154 with just two extra-base hits against him.
With the Winnipeg Goldeyes, Van Leur went 1-0 with a 6.75 ERA in 12 appearances in the regular season, and he helped the Goldeyes win the 2012 American Association championship.
Information about individual tickets and group outings with the Sioux Falls Pheasants is available by calling (605) 336-6060 or visiting www.sfpheasants.com.
