Adirondack Phantoms News Release
PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Phantoms announced today that the team will be staging a special jersey auction beginning tonight, Monday, April 16. The team will be auctioning off its set of 24 commemorative jerseys from its Fifth Anniversary celebration in 2000-01.
To celebrate the franchise's fifth anniversary, the team wore special black jerseys that are unique to that particular season. The main focal point of the jersey is the special fifth anniversary logo crest that features the Roman numeral V surrounded by the years "1996" and "2001" on the sides, with the "Phantoms" word mark above it and the Phantoms team logo below it. The Phantoms logo is also found on the shoulders.
Instead of featuring horizontal striping, the jersey stripes are in a V-pattern. The jerseys have a tie-up collar, and several feature a Comcast advertising patch. Most of the jerseys have been signed by the players who wore them.
The following jerseys are included in the auction: Bruno St. Jacques, Michel Picard, Jason Beckett, Sergei Skrobot, Chris Heron, Petr Hubacek, Todd Fedoruk, Kirby Law, Joe DiPenta, Mark Freer, Vaclav Pletka, Mark Greig, Jesse Boulerice, Russ Hewson, Tomas Divisek, Matt Herr, Steve Washburn, Derek Plante, John Slaney, Brad Tiley, Neil Little, Brian Regan, Mikhail Chernov, and Dan Murphy.
These jerseys have been in storage for the past six years, but are now being made available to fans via The Phantoms Attic, the team's online eBay store. Bidding will run for 10 days, ending the evening of Thursday, April 26.
Season ticket deposits are now being accepted for the 2007-08 season. Fans who make a $100 deposit on a new season ticket or pay renewals in full by May 1 will be entered in a drawing to win a 40x30 print of Neil Little from the famous Phantoms/Binghamton brawl of Dec. 28, 2003. For more information or to make a deposit, call the Phantoms at 215-465-4522 during normal business hours. More information is also available at www.phantomshockey.com.
