
Pettis Named AFL Ironman Of The Week

DALLAS, Texas - After a performance that included 188 total purpose yards - including a game-high 12 receptions for 138 yards - and four touchdowns along with an interception to help the Dallas Desperados surge to 3-0 for the third consecutive season with a 50-41 victory over the Colorado Crush on Monday night, Dallas Desperados WR/DB Will Pettis was named the AFL's Ironman of the Week today.
Thus far in the 2008 season, Pettis currently leads the Desperados with 22 receptions for 230 yards and eight touchdowns. He has also returned eight kickoffs for 100 yards and has added an interception on defense.
Pettis took home the league's prestigious Ironman of the Year award following the end of the 2007 season after a year that included 2,774 all-purpose yards, including 1,471 receiving yards, and 46 total touchdowns. On defense, he added 59.5 stops, two tackles for loss, 11 pass breakups, three interceptions and one fumble recovery. He earned Ironman of the Week honors 15 times in 2007, and was Ironman of the Month for March and June.
