Philadelphia Soul News Release
The Philadelphia Soul will pursue a fourth consecutive victory of the season and a second win in five days when they travel to Los Angeles to face off against the Avengers at the Staples Center on Thursday, March 20 at 10:30 p.m. (et). The game will be broadcast live on Comcast SportsNet and can be heard live on radio locally on Sports Radio 950, on the web at sr950.com and on Sirius Satellite channel 130.
The Soul won their season opener 77-56 over the Orlando Predators on Saturday, March 1, their road opener 60-49 against the Chicago Rush on March 9 and earlier this week 63-42 over the New York Dragons on Sunday.
Reserve QB Matt D'Orazio filled in for starting QB Tony Graziani who suffered a left knee injury during the 3rd quarter of the New York game on Sunday. Graziani was knocked out of the game after connecting with WR Larry Brackins for a touchdown but suffered a late hit by Dragons defensive nose guard John Nix. D'Orazio came on the field and led two touchdown drives to ensure a Soul victory and will continue to play until Graziani is fully healed.
Philadelphia is 1-0 all-time against the Avengers. This is the only meeting of the season between these two clubs.
