Soul Lead the Way Again; AFL Attendance Still at All-Time High

NEW YORK - The Arena Football League is averaging 13,254 fans per game through the first three weeks of its 2008 season, which is the highest three-week cumulative average in the League's 22-season history.

The average passes the previous three-week record of 12,919 in 2005. The third week of the 2008 season averaged 12,984 fans per game, the second-highest average attendance ever for a Week 3.

The 2008 season's three-week cumulative average is up 11 percent vs. 2007's three-week cumulative of 11,895 and up seven percent vs. the 2007 season-ending average of 12,415. Week 3's average attendance was up 22 percent compared to 2007's Week 3 figure of 10,602.

The Philadelphia Soul posted the highest attendance figure of Week 3 with 16,102 fans for their game against the New York Dragons. The Columbus Destroyers hosted 15,946 fans for their home opener and the inaugural "Battle of the Buckeye State" against their new intra-state rival, the Cleveland Gladiators.
