
Petes Unable to Shut Down Steelheads Offence in 9-2 Loss

(Peterborough, ON) - The Petes closed out a three-game weekend with a 9-2 loss to the Steelheads in Mississauga on Sunday afternoon.
It took the Steelheads just 52 seconds to get on the board. Chris Paquette registered his eighth goal of the season to tie the game at 1. Mississauga responded with three goals in 1:46, closing out the period with a 4-1 lead.
Rookie John Parker-Jones scored the first goal of the second stanza, netting his second of the season to cut the lead to 4-2. The Steelheads' Albert Michnac completed a hat trick on the power play before a second man-advantage marker was added by the Fish, finishing the frame leading 6-2.
Mississauga would score one shorthanded and two power play goals in the third period to secure a 9-2 victory over the Petes.
Austin Osmanski, Nikita Korostelev, and Matyas Svoboda each recorded one assist.
Albert Michnac (3G), Jacob Moverare (1G, 2A), and Brendan Harrogate (1G, 2A) were named the first, second, and third stars of the game.
The Petes were 0 for 4 on the power play, and 7 for 12 on the penalty kill. Hunter Jones turned away 53 of 62 shots.
Despite the loss, the Petes remain in first place in the Eastern Conference, with a record of 11-7-0-1.
