Peterborough Petes News Release

The Peterborough Petes announced today that General Manager David Reid has traded for the Brampton Battalion's 1st Round (42nd overall) pick, in the 2012 CHL Import Draft to be held tomorrow June 27th 2012 beginning at 9:00am. The Petes acquired from the Belleville Bulls the Brampton Battalion's 1st Round (42nd) 2012 CHL Import Pick in exchange for the Petes 7th round pick in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection and the Petes 2nd Round (69th) 2012 CHL Import Pick.

Petes General Manager David Reid felt moving up 27 selections will narrow the field.

"We have a number of players identified and by moving up twenty seven picks to the 42nd selection we are satisfied that we can narrow our list down even more and acquire a player who will fit into our lineup this season."

Each CHL member team is limited to two European Players on their active roster. With the return of 2011 selection Peter Ceresnak the Petes have roster space for one more European player.
