Belleville Bulls News Release
BELLEVILLE, ON - With the CHL Import Draft looming, the Bulls were active on the trade front Tuesday morning as team Head Coach and General Manager George Burnett announced that a trade has been completed with the Sudbury Wolves.
The Bulls will send goaltender John Chartrand and the Bulls' 1st round (27th overall) selection in Wednesday's Import Draft to the Wolves. The Bulls will receive Sudbury's 1st round (42nd overall) Import Draft selection, and Plymouth's 5th and 11th round picks in 2013.
"With the congestion in our crease headed into training camp this fall, it was important for us to address this area of our depth chart and give John an opportunity as a 19 year-old in the league," said Burnett of the trade.
Chartrand, who was acquired by the Bulls last summer, will join his fourth OHL club in Sudbury that is looking to fill a spot between the pipes with the impending graduation of either Johan Mattsson or Joel Vienneau.
The Bulls will now be selecting 42nd in Wednesday's draft.
