Petes Skate to Lopsided Victory over IceDogs

(Peterborough, ON) - The Peterborough Petes skated to a decisive 12-1 win over the Niagara IceDogs on Sunday afternoon, earning their fourth straight win and every game in the month of March. The Maroon and White have outscored their opponents 31-3 in those games.

Nick Robertson (54, 55) scored two shorthanded tallies, moving him into fourth place for goals scored by a Pete in a single season. Semyon Der-Arguchintsev (11, 12) scored twice to extend his goal scoring streak to three games. Zach Gallant (32, 33) and Akil Thomas (23, 24) also had two goals apiece. The Petes got single markers from Brady Hinz (15), Declan Chisholm (13), John Parker-Jones (8), and Max Grondin (13).

Thomas added four assists, while Robertson, Gallant, and Liam Kirk had three each. Chisholm, Grondin, and Hudson Wilson each registered a pair of helpers, and Der-Arguchintsev, Hinz, Jacob Paquette, and Michael Little recorded single assists.

With 26 saves, Tye Austin earned his third win against the IceDogs this season.

Final shots were 54-27 in favour of the Petes. Peterborough went 4/6 on the power play and 5/6 on the penalty kill.

The Petes are back in action on home ice on Thursday, March 12 against the Sudbury Wolves and on Saturday, March 14 against the Oshawa Generals. Both games are at 7:05pm.
