Petes Have Strong Connections with 2016 Eastern Canada Cup Team Rosters

Peterborough, ON- Rosters have been announced for teams that will compete in the upcoming Eastern Canada All-Star Jr. A Challenge, which will be played November 14-16 in Cornwall, Ont.

Eight players who have an affiliation with the Petes will participate in the tournament, including 2016 Priority Selection pick Hunter Jones (signed September 4), 2015 picks Bryce Misley, Cameron Crotty, and Nate McDonald, 2014 picks Connor Hill and Bobby Dow, 2012 pick Matt Tugnutt, and Matt Watson, who played with the Petes during the 2015/16 season. The 10-team event will feature squads from all five of the Eastern-based members of the Canadian Junior Hockey League featuring Team NOJHL, one team from each of the four conferences that comprise the Ontario Junior Hockey League, two from the host Central Canada Hockey League and the Maritime Hockey League along with one entry from the Quebec Junior Hockey League.

The top four teams in each division will advance to quarter-final action on Nov. 16, which will be followed by semi-final play and the championship game later that same day. This event is used as part of the selection process for the 2016 World Jr. A Challenge scheduled to take place in Bonnyville, Alberta December 11-17, 2016.

The World Junior A Challenge - a showcase of Canadian and international Junior A talent, as in past years, will feature two Canadian teams: Team Canada East and Team Canada West, as well as four international entries who will go for gold.

Current Petes forward Tyler Rollo was a member of Team Canada East in the 2015 World Jr A Challenge that was played out of Cobourg and Whitby.
