(Peterborough, ON) - The Peterborough Petes defeated the defending Robertson Cup Champion Bulldogs, 5-3, outshooting them 48-19 on Saturday night at the PMC.

Game Recap:

First Period: Lockhart opened the scoring with an assist from Tucker Robertson. Jack Van Volsen scored his first career OHL goal from Pagé and McCallum to put the Petes up 2-0. James Guo scored to make it 3-0 from Nick Lardis and Chase Stillman. Petes lead 3-0 heading into the first intermission.

Second Period: Sam Mayer opened the 2nd period scoring with an assist from Tucker Robertson and Connor Lockhart. Sam Mayer scored his second of the period once again assisted by Robertson and Lockhart to put the Petes up 5-0. Cole Brown scored assisted by Van Vliet and Thomas. Florian Xhekaj scored assisted by Braeden O'Keefe, and Artem Grushnikov. Petes lead 5-2 going into the second intermission.

Third Period: Florian Xhekaj scored the lone goal of the third period, his second of the night, with the assist coming from Lawson Sherk. Petes win 5-3.

Special Notes: Jack Van Volsen scored his first OHL goal. First star of the game was Samuel Mayer, second star was Tucker Robertson, and the third star of the game was Jack Van Volsen.
