Petes Acquire Two Priority Selection Picks from Steelheads

(Peterborough, ON) - General Manager Michael Oke announced today that the Petes have acquired Mississauga's fifth round pick in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection and Mississauga's 10th round pick in the 2025 OHL Priority Selection in exchange for Stevie Leaskovar.

Leskovar, a 2004-born defensemen from Cambridge, ON, was originally selected by the Peterborough Petes in the 5th round, 95th overall, in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection. Leskovar played 38 career games with the Petes, recording 23 penalty minutes.

"On behalf of the entire Petes organization, I'd like to thank Stevie for his contributions to our team and community over the past two seasons. We wish him the best of luck as he continues his hockey journey with the Steelheads," commented Oke.

The Petes next game is Thursday, January 12th against the Sarnia Sting. Owen Beck and Cam Gauvreau will make their Petes debut and Brennan Othmann will make his return from the World Juniors. You can get tickets.
