Novotný Picks up Four Points in Season Debut as Petes Beat Sting at Home

(Peterborough, ON) - On Thursday, September 24, the Peterborough Petes hosted the Sarnia Sting for Indigenous Heritage night presented by Crowe's Gas.

There were a number of activations before and during the game, including performances by the Smoke Trail Drum & Dance Group from Alderville First Nation. The ceremonial puck drop featured representation from Crowe's Gas, Alderville First Nation, Hiawatha First Nation, and Curve Lake First Nation. Before puck drop, the anthem was performed in Anishinaabemowin by Curve Lake First Nation School.

The Petes would take control in the second period of the game, scoring four unanswered en route to a 7-4 win. Adam Novotný made his season debut after being assigned to the Petes by the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday afternoon. Novotny led the charge offensively for the Maroon and White, scoring twice and adding two assists in his first game back. Cooper Dennis also had a big game for Peterborough, scoring his first as a Pete and adding two assists. Carson Cameron scored twice, while Adam Levac picked up two assists. Braydon McCallum and Leon Kolarik also scored for Peterborough, with Yanis Lutz, Aiden Young, James McMurray, and Francis Parish all picking up an assist.

The Petes are back in action on Friday, September 25, when they travel to Brantford to take on the Brantford Bulldogs. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the TD Civic Centre. The game will be broadcast live on YourTV Peterborough, FloHockey, and Freq 90.5.
