Peterson Recalled To AHL Grand Rapids

PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the San Jose Sharks and the Worcester Sharks, announced today that defenseman Brett Peterson has been recalled by Grand Rapids of the American Hockey League.

Peterson, 27, has three goals and eight points, and a team-leading plus-eight rating in 21 games this season with the RoadRunners. The Northborough, Mass. native and fifth-year professional signed a free agent contract with Grand Rapids on Sep. 5 after collecting four goals and 14 points and 101 penalty minutes in 69 games last season with the Florida Everblades. He was re-assigned to the RoadRunners on Oct. 29. Peterson also appeared in two games earlier this year with the Flint Generals of the International Hockey League where he notched a goal and recorded two penalty minutes.

Peterson has spent the majority of his professional career in the ECHL skating with Atlantic City, Johnstown, and Florida. The former Boston College defenseman has registered 24 goals, 58 assists, and 366 penalty minutes in 299 ECHL games.

The RoadRunners travel to the Orleans Arena at 8:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26 to battle the Las Vegas Wranglers. Catch all the action live on Independent 1310 KXAM beginning with "RoadRunners Countdown" at 8:15 p.m.

Phoenix returns to US Airways Center at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27 when they welcome the Ontario Reign.
